Dude, I'm going to tell you a story: the story of how you became a User Experience Designer. Right now you'll be in the year 2001 so it's something you haven't heard about yet...

Dude, I'm going to tell you a story: the story of how you became a User Experience Designer. Right now you'll be in the year 2001 so it's something you haven't heard about yet...

It is rare to write to yourself... and even more if it is to "yourself from the past", but one day, you will surprise yourself by trying to write a letter to yourself. Reviewing, in front of a round age figure, what it means to be you. In the end, for one reason or another, you'll see that, given some thought, it will be a good idea to present yourself on your own website (Yes, you'll have one!).

I know you still dream of soccer as a way of life, but you'll take another path just as fun. Don't worry because life on a team will still be an important part of your day to day life....

As your friends begin to enjoy their first year of university, you'll take a different path. You'll grab your stuff and spend a hard year working in Edinburgh, Scotland. With English in your luggage (among a multitude of experiences), you'll go back home and start studying Advertising.

You will move to Madrid and study a Postgrade Course in Creativity and Art Direction. You will also learn in some of the best agencies in the world. You'll work hard, you'll put a lot of effort... and you'll have a great time, a really great time. You will have the opportunity to surround yourself with very talented and creative people and from whom you still receive a lot of advice, a lot of help and a lot of affection.

Don't get overwhelmed when this stage is over, because it will end. Seeing a little more of the world will do you good. You will go through more jobs, following the same policy of sweating and working absolutely every single thing you do. That's the secret, that's all there is to it.

As you know, you are completely crazy so you decide to start a new adventure. You will found Mr.Flopez, together with Rober -yes, that American guy who used to slap you on the bus on the way to school- and you will start to learn how the world really works: printers, clients, yourself many times. Or how to manage timings, invoices, emotions and much more. They will be some good years and you will be doing well, but your body and mind will ask you for something more.

One rainy day in March, over a cup of coffee, you will realize that the projects you like the most, and that more and more come to you, are those that include websites and mobile applications. Moving by intuition, you start to see, do and organize things that catch the attention of the programmers you will be working with, and they say that all this has a name: User Experience. It's as if all the pieces have suddenly fallen into place in your life. You'll see a whole world full of possibilities around this in a universe still in formation.

You will then open a stage, probably one of the best you have experienced so far. This whole process will introduce you to an infinite number of schools and companies, places that will change the way you think and how you approach projects.

I warn you, you will have to overcome, sweat, fight, fall and get up... again and again and again... but when you recover you will only want to go further than before. Even if there are tough times (and trust me there will be tough times), the feeling you'll get is that you just want to learn more and more.

And so we come to today... This is going to be you, a lucky guy in love with his job and that's something that only a few can say. I've tried to be the best "me" I could be. Breathe easy, everything is going to be fine. You will see how the letter from our "I" of 45 will confirm that this is only the beginning...
